On June 2, 2023 at 18:00, the KSED was informed through the automatic network of rescue points, about two people who were in danger after diving in the area of Agioi Anargyron in Kavo Greko.

The rescue point was activated by other people present at the scene, who managed to save the two people who were in danger by using the circular life preserver.

On this occasion, KSED reminds the public to follow the instructions of the markings and to avoid entering the sea from points characterized as dangerous and under adverse weather conditions.

KSED, in collaboration with private volunteers and Cyta, proceeded with the installation of four rescue points in areas of increased traffic, which have been characterized as high risk: in the sea caves and Agioi Anargyros in Kavo Greko, in the wharf in front of the Old Port of Limassol and in "Ta Bania" beach » in Kato Paphos. Each one includes a circular lifeline with a rope, placed in a hard case, for immediate rescue of a person in danger. It is activated automatically, by informing the KSED Operations Center by phone and at the same time, through a camera installed in the case, it transmits an image from the scene, in real time.
