The Fire Department launched a rescue operation for two people who were trapped on the rocks in the Cape Greco area on the afternoon of Ash Monday.
According to the Fire Department's press spokesman, Andreas Kettis, at around 15:56 a call was received for people trapped on the rocks in the Kavos Greko area, specifically in an area between Agioi Anargyroi and Konnos.
A fire engine from Famagusta rushed to the scene, with a special team, and a rescue operation was carried out, using a stretcher. The two people were handed over to the Ambulance Service crew for transport to the Famagusta General Hospital. The Fire Service's E.M.A.K. responded to and supported the rescue. Additionally, the Cyprus Coast Guard was informed of the incident for a similar response by the Port Police in case of emergency.
