The Liopetriou Youth Center proceeded to clean the Liopetriou River.
In a post they wrote "we want to thank from the bottom of our hearts those who joined us today and gave their time and energy to clean our beach.
Unfortunately, a lot of trash was found on the beach – plastic, broken glasses, cigarette butts, wood, charcoal, nylon and more. This litter not only destroys the beauty of our nature, but also our marine life, our health and our future.
It is very important that we all realize how precious our environment is and especially our beaches. Each of us can make a difference: with a bag in hand and a little respect, it is enough to throw our rubbish where it belongs, without having to organize such actions often.
Sensitivity and respect for nature and the environment must be an education for all of us – and especially for the new generations. With small changes in our daily life we can build a better tomorrow for us and the next generations. Let's show love and respect to the land that hosts us".
