A forest fire burned vegetation of a dozen near the Liopetri River, with the exact causes being investigated.
In a statement, the Forest Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment states that at 10.00 on Sunday morning a fire broke out in an area near the river Liopetri, at a distance of about 300 meters from the National Forest Park of Liopetri.
The fire was brought under control around 10:45, after it burned an area of a decade covered with dry grass and forest trees. To extinguish the fire, 3 people from the Forest Department attempted with 1 fire truck, and 5 people from the Fire Service with 2 fire trucks. The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
