The District Court of Famagusta issued today a six-day detention order against a 37-year-old man, to facilitate the Police's investigations regarding an investigated case of breaking into a farmhouse and theft committed between April 5-6 in Liopetri.
According to Stiv Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Department, "on April 6, a 70-year-old man reported that his farmhouse in Liopetri was broken into and three wood-cutting machines and a water heater boiler with a total value of 650 euros were stolen.
Investigators from the TAE Famagusta went to the scene and received various documents, while a dactyloscopic check was also carried out.
He added that "from the scientific tests carried out, the prints found at the scene were identified with those of a 37-year-old man, as a result of which a court warrant was issued for his arrest.
The 37-year-old was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, April 12, in Limassol and today he was brought before the District Court of Famagusta, which issued a detention order against him for six days."
The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
