The reaction of residents and organized bodies to the decision to install Wind Turbines in the breeding area of Liopetriou is strong.
In a post, the Deputy Mayor of Liopetriou, Markos Koumis, said that "in the last few days we have been informed about the installation of wind turbines near the cattle breeding area of Liopetriou, an application that has been submitted for 12 years and after all the environmental studies and the consent of the then Community Council have the necessary permits are issued. We have requested a special study from the environment department, since we believe that after this rather long period of time, the study that has been done certainly does not reflect the picture of today."
He pointed out that next Thursday 24/10 at 19:00 there will be a pan-community gathering in the church hall where there will be an update on all the facts.
The residents will also be informed about two other problems, the Liopetriou river and the camp.
