The 11-year-old is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Makarei Hospital after the car accident that occurred yesterday in Liopetri.
According to the Police, the 11-year-old underwent a craniectomy, hematoma removal and is currently being intubated at the Makarios Hospital with his health condition being critical.
It is recalled that the collision occurred yesterday afternoon, that under circumstances that are being investigated, a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old woman from Liopetri, with her 11-year-old grandson as co-driver, deviated from her path, went off the road and first hit a tree and then a residential fence resulting in to be overturned.
From the collision, the 11-year-old was thrown from the windshield of the vehicle and ended up on the asphalt.
Both were transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital and then the 11-year-old due to the severity of his injuries was intubated and transported to Nicosia General Hospital.
