The Famagusta District Court today issued an eight-day detention order against a 24-year-old man from Liopetri to facilitate police investigations into an investigated case of attempted murder, illegal possession, transport and use of firearms and explosives. in the free area of Famagusta.
According to Andreas Konstantinou, spokesman for the Famagusta Police Department, “the Famagusta Police Department is investigating a murder attempt with a 34-year-old victim. Specifically, around 20.45 last night, while the 34-year-old was on the veranda of her house, she received two shots from a shotgun ".
He added that "the woman was immediately transported to the General Hospital of Famagusta, where the doctors on duty found that she had multiple bullet wounds to the back, which came from a shot fired from a shotgun. Her health condition is considered serious but out of danger ".
According to Mr. Konstantinou, “during the investigation of the case, a testimony emerged against a 24-year-old from a village in the free province of Famagusta, who was arrested around 4 this morning. The young man was taken before noon before the District Court of Famagusta, which issued a detention order against him for eight days ".
Answering relevant questions, Mr. Konstantinou said that "the relationship of the girl who is pregnant with the arrested person is being investigated by the Police" while for the clarification of the case several testimonies are expected to be taken from the family, friendly and professional environment of the two people. .
