The state is threatening to send police to the construction site on the Liopetriou River if the contractor Lois Builders Ltd does not leave. It is noted that the work continues, despite the termination of the contract.
Speaking to Mesimeri and Kati, Nikolas Lois stated that "our intention is to complete the work and we call on the competent Authority to examine all that we have shared lately with the services, the MPs and all the relevant departments. They will detect that it is a project that is 70% complete and indeed one can see that it can be finished in five months. All materials except a bridge are on site. We are flexible to find whatever solution is needed that satisfies the employer and gives a way out of this impasse to finish the project."
Asked about the police, he noted that "they told us that in 14 days they will come to take the construction site. I hope from the day I sent the letter until today they have changed that attitude. Our intention is to keep the construction site until we find a solution."
He added that terminating the contract is as illegal as it could be.
