The new Deputy Mayor speaking to Famagusta News, said that "we have been invited today to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture to discuss the problems faced by fishermen in the River. A new extension has been given to the project until December.
Mr. Koumis pointed out the problems faced by fishermen.
"The problems of the fishermen are that they do not have a place to put their boats, there is no culvert to lower the boats and the river has become filled with sand due to inactivity so that it needs to be dredged so that the fishermen can carry out their work" .
It is recalled that the works on the site were estimated at €11 million, they started in September 2020 with the aim of completing and handing over the project in March 2023.
