Until December 17 is the new extension given to the contractor of the project for the reconstruction of the fishing shelter in the Liopetriou River.
At the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee yesterday, Tuesday 03/07, the regional governor of Famagusta Yiannis Karousos, the Mayor of Agia Napa Christos Zannetou, the Deputy Mayor of Liopetriou Markos Koumis, the fishermen and the competent Departments of Town Planning.
Yesterday, the Department of Urban Planning and Housing informed the Commission about the decision to grant a new extension to the contractor. The fishermen called on the Parliament to intervene with the government in order to support them financially for the loss of their income. They also highlighted once again the problems they face.
It is noted that the committee will discuss the issue again next September.
It was emphasized to the committee that it is the last extension given to the contractor.
