TEVEA met with the mayors of Ayia Napa and Sotiras and the Mayor of Liopetriou (PICTURES)

The Executive Committee of TEBEA, as part of the series of contacts it conducts with the local self-government authorities of the free province of Famagusta, held a meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2023 with the presidents of the councils of the local authorities, which during the reform of the local self-government will form part of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, specifically the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettou, the Mayor of Sotiras, Mr. Georgios Takka and the Deputy Mayor of Liopetriou, Mr. Vasos Manolis.

A discussion and exchange of views followed regarding the developments concerning the Local Plan of Paralimni - Deryneia - Ayia Napa and the Temporary Coordinating Council of Famagusta and reference was made to the state of tourism in the region. The attendees were also informed about the progress of the Deryneia - Sotiras Road construction projects, about the developments concerning the coastal front of the Sotiras Municipality and finally, the issue of the reconstruction of the Liopetrios Fishing Refuge was discussed and especially the long delays that are presented regarding the construction work.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Savvas Kosiis reiterated the support of TEBEA to the representatives of the local self-government authorities and underlined the necessity of mobilizing the entire province of Famagusta to defend its interests and the dynamic assertion of the just demands of its residents.

Upon completion of the round of meetings with the local government authorities and other bodies, TEBEA will forward to the relevant Ministries and Services to resolve all the issues and problems it has recorded.
