The Famagusta District Government Organization (FGOO) has launched a campaign to identify thefts and illegal interventions in the water supply network.
Specific cases have already been identified and all appropriate measures will be implemented to protect water resources and ensure equality for all consumers.
The President of the Famagusta Traffic Police, Mr. Yannis Karousos, stated: "With our workers and staff, we are walking the entire network to check for any interventions. I want to send a clear message: we will identify any illegal intervention and react decisively. We will not allow some to benefit at the expense of law-abiding citizens. I also call on citizens, if they notice suspicious actions, to immediately inform the Famagusta Traffic Police. We will not tolerate the right people paying for the illegalities of some."
The EOAA will continue with zero tolerance its efforts to combat such phenomena, ensuring water as a valuable public good and protecting the citizens of the Famagusta district.
