Alexandros Zantis won the 1st prize in the open artistic competition for the construction of a Monument to the Fallen and Missing in the community of Xylofagos.
In an announcement, the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (EKATE) states that after the Monument Competition, the seven-member jury has decided that the 1st prize will be given to Alexandros Santis, the 2nd prize to Elina Ioannou and the 3rd prize to George Moses.
The proposal of Alexandros Zantis was selected for the 1st prize, the announcement says, because it included all the necessary information that was requested.
As it is noted "it has a classic and perceptible style and is perfectly in line with the environment and the style of the village".
For the Competition for the Monument of the Fallen and Missing in the Xylofagos Community, the seven-member jury consisted of: Vassilis Polykarpou, Deputy Co-Chair of the Xylofagos Community Council Ε.ΚΑ.ΤΕ. architect (ETEK) and visual artist, Nikos Papalouka, member of the Board of Directors of EKATE and visual artist, Rebecca Efstathiou, member of EKATE. and visual artist and Maria Koupi, Architect, member of ETEK.
