With particular satisfaction, the Municipality of Ayia Napa welcomes the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Ayia Napa Marina and Paralimni Marina, which took place on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Ayia Napa Marina Event Centre and which marks a new era of synergy and coordinated actions in the nautical tourism sector.
The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, in his greeting, expressed clear evidence of the common will for cooperation, development, sustainability and innovation in the region.
As he mentioned, through close cooperation and coordination of efforts, strong bonds are being created that will bring substantial benefits both for the Free Province of Famagusta and for the citizens themselves.
Mr. Zannetou underlined the importance of the two Marinas as strategic hubs, not only for anchorage and recreation purposes, but also as drivers of development and business opportunities. This cooperation, according to him, constitutes an important step towards the formulation of a common strategy that strengthens the international competitiveness of the region.
At the same time, he highlighted the importance of addressing tourism seasonality through the development of new, innovative forms of tourism that will attract visitors throughout the year, strengthening the local economy and sustainable development. The Ayia Napa and Paralimni Marinas, as he noted, are key pillars for the strengthening of nautical travel tourism, actively contributing to the attraction of pleasure boats, sailing and cruise ships, while promoting forms of alternative tourism.
In closing, he assured that the Municipality of Ayia Napa will continue to support and strengthen every effort aimed at the implementation of common goals, the sustainable and dynamic development of the region, the strengthening of the local market and economy and the establishment of Ayia Napa as a model of innovation and quality of life.
