Yesterday, 13.5 irregular migrants (25 men and one unaccompanied minor) were on board a boat about seven meters long, located 24 nautical miles south-east of Cabo Greco.
The irregular migrants were picked up and safely transported by Akato Police (Bad weather conditions prevailed and the boat was in poor condition, which later sank during towing), to the Paralimni Fishery Shelter and then transferred to the Pournara Hospitality Center.
From the tests carried out, testimony emerged against a 48-year-old man (the driver of the boat), who was arrested to facilitate investigations.
TAE Famagusta continues the exams.
