The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, is representing the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia at the International Tourism Fair ITB, which is currently taking place in Berlin. This is the largest and most important tourism fair in the world.
As Mr. Nikolettos mentioned, the Municipality's presence in this important event is a unique opportunity to promote the region and strengthen efforts to extend the tourist season.
During his presence at the exhibition, Mr. Nicolettos had the opportunity to hold meetings with tour operators and industry professionals, which, as he stated, demonstrated that there is increased interest in the Municipality, with the prospects for the summer season being particularly positive, since specifically, in the next tourist season, a 6% increase in tourist inbound traffic is expected, and a 9% increase in the German market.
He also pointed out that "with a coordinated and collective effort, we are strengthening the position of our Municipality on the global tourism map and creating new opportunities for sustainable tourism development, while continuing to work with the aim of promoting and upgrading our tourism product, highlighting our Municipality as an attractive, high-quality destination."
