Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetou expresses his warmest congratulations, both on behalf of the Ayia Napa Municipal Council and personally, to our fellow citizen George Mavrou, also known as "Koumbaros", for his participation in the Pancyprian Special Olympics Games to be held on May 6, 2025 at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
George will take part in the 100 and 200 meter events, making a dynamic return to the races after several years.
"As a Municipality," said the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, in his statements, "we are proud of the action and presence of Giorgos Mavros in the Pancyprian Special Olympics Games," and his participation, he added, "is a source of inspiration for all of us and an example to follow.
He also expressed "his warm thanks to his trainers, Andreas Efstathiou and Marios Christoforou, for their support and guidance."
"We wish George good luck and invite everyone to attend and support his efforts. As a Municipality, we assure you that we will continue to stand by the side of people who remind us of the universal values of sports and life."
