OGEE Famagusta: Lecture on tourism with speaker Savvas Perdios (VIDEO + PICTURES)

The public event organized by OGEE (Organization of Women Entrepreneurs / Professionals) of Free Famagusta took place on Wednesday 21/10/20 at the City Hall of Paralimni with the theme, "The consequences of the pandemic in the tourism industry and in the human resources", with the main speaker Deputy Minister of Tourism Savva Perdio.

Emilia Evangelou-Xydia as a member of OGEE Free Famagusta and as coordinator of the event welcomed the Deputy Minister and all the deputies of the region and the mayors who honored them with their presence.

The President Maria Miliotou also addressed a greeting, while on behalf of the Famagusta shopkeepers, the President of the shopkeepers of Ayia Napa, Maria Moleski-Hadjichristou, also a member of OGEE, spoke.

This year, unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic caused a very serious blow to the tourism industry of Cyprus and to the human resources. Especially in the area of ​​Famagusta, which is a predominantly tourist area that lives purely from the tourism industry.

The pandemic, unfortunately, profoundly affected the economy of the free Province of Famagusta and especially that of the predominantly tourist areas, such as Ayia Napa and Protaras.

In an open dialogue with the Undersecretary, he realized the huge problem plaguing the region and Savvas Perdios promised that as much as his position and responsibilities allow, he will help the region so that not all small and medium-sized enterprises in closure.

OGEE is a women's initiative with a remarkable contribution to civil society, actively promoting equal opportunities and overcoming obstacles in the life and career of women. Women can take a greater share in shaping political life, rise to leadership positions, in executive positions and positively influence, with their ideas and skills, the development of Cyprus.
