The Famagusta Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, on the basis of its strategic plan, utilizes the possibilities offered by technology to upgrade digital access and promotion of the region's tourist product, creating the "Ayia Napa - Protaras Official" mobile phone application .
The application is now operational and is available in Greek and English, both on Android and iOS mobile phones. It easily and simply provides complete information on all the events and points of interest in the province of Famagusta, highlighting in this way the multitude of activities and points of reference that can be visited and accessed throughout the year.
This new application has been designed in the logic of functioning as a simple and easy-to-use guide for every user, providing insight, knowledge and information about all the beaches, attractions, museums, landmarks, events, services, some useful telephone numbers and in general any information that a visitor to the area needs, whether he resides permanently in Cyprus or is visiting the area as a tourist from abroad. The application is constantly upgraded and updated with new information daily, while users within the next months, through the application, will have access to hotels and restaurants in the area.
The President of the Famagusta Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, the mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettou, in his relevant statements, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that "an effort that started two years ago is taking shape and giving a new perspective in the promotion of the tourist product of the province of Famagusta". As he typically states, "the goal of this effort, in addition to the digital upgrade and the continuous strengthening of information for every visitor, is to highlight the fact that the province of Famagusta is an attractive tourist destination throughout the year and not only in the summer months, either this concerns domestic tourism or tourists from abroad". He pointed out that "the initiatives for the digital upgrade of the tourist product do not stop at the application for mobile phones, as the Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company has drawn up a comprehensive strategic plan, in the context of which a 360° digital virtual tour has also been created with all the main points of reference in all communities and municipalities, while within the year the digitization of all the nature trails that can be visited in the region will also proceed."
