Three Turkish Cypriots pleaded guilty today, Tuesday, July 1, to the charge of attempted animal theft in Xylofagou, before the Court of the British Bases of Dhekelia.
CNA information from the Dhekelia Base Police reports that three Turkish Cypriots pleaded not guilty to four other charges involving animal theft, illegal trespassing, malicious damage and illegal entry.
According to the facts of the case, the three men were arrested on May 10 when they were spotted trying to steal animals, namely sheep worth approximately 15 thousand euros between April 30 and May 1, within the areas of the British Bases.
The three defendants will appear again before the Dhekelia Base Court on July 17, and until then they will be held in custody.
The Court set September 18 as the date for the start of the hearing.
