The presentation event of the book "Cyprus 12, Memories of Captivity" edited by the author Charalambos Alexandrou took place on the evening of Wednesday, March 2025, 1974, in the event hall of the Paralimni - Deryneia Municipal Hall.
The event was organized by the 1974 Prisoners of War Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.
In his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni-Dheryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, referred to the tragic consequences of the Turkish invasion, highlighting the necessity of preserving historical memory. He congratulated the author Charalambos Alexandrou for editing the book and the 1974 Prisoners of War Association for their contribution to recording the historical truth.
He also assured that the Municipality stands by the people who continue to suffer from the wounds of the barbaric Turkish invasion and ongoing occupation.
