The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cyprus, the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and the Municipality of Paralimni organize the photo exhibition "The Story of Anne Frank: Let me be myself" which will be hosted at the Municipal Hall of Paralimni from Saturday 5 November 2022 until Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
The opening ceremony will be held by the Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ms. Elke Merks-Schaapveld, on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 19:00 PM at the Paralimni Town Hall.
The photo exhibition "Let me be myself", presented by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cyprus, allows its visitors to identify with the personal story of Anne Frank. The large-format photographs show happy moments of her early life in Frankfurt and her subsequent move to Amsterdam.
Thus, the exhibition connects the personal history of the Frank family with important historical events of the time: the rise of National Socialism, the isolation and discrimination against the Jews and, finally, the climax of the Holocaust. The contemporary part of the exhibition presents stories of young people of today, exploring 4 key issues related to the Anne Frank story:
• ID card
• People as part of a group
• Discrimination
• Coping
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 08:00-14:30 and Saturday and Sunday 09:00-13:00.
Free entrance
