More than three thousand carnivalists and approximately 25 thousand spectators participated in or watched the great Carnival Parade that culminated the Famagusta Carnival in Paralimni on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
The parade began at 2 p.m. on the main streets of Paralimni and was attended by over three thousand young and old carnival participants with groups whose main theme was impressive appearances, humorous mood and satire.
The main float of this year's Carnival King, the popular actor Alkis Christos, who embodied the "King of the Seas" or "AquaKing", while the Mayor and the Municipal Council of Paralimni - Deryneia paraded with the "Ship of Unity", which symbolizes the unity that characterizes the Municipal Council of Paralimni - Deryneia after the reform of local government and the unification of the four municipal districts, Paralimni, Deryneia, Frenaros and Acheritos.
In his statements, the Mayor of Paralimni-Dheryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, did not fail to thank the Carnival Committee, the Cultural Service, the Culture Committee, the Municipal Council, the staff and the volunteers who worked for the impeccable organization of the Famagusta Carnival, expressing special gratitude to the King of the Carnival, Alkis Christos. He emphasized that the Carnival has been established as an institution, offering joy and renewal to the citizens and visitors, while he assured that the Municipality continues its work with vision and will.
On the evening of Saturday, March 1, the traditional evening foot parade took place in Paralimni, which ended at Agios Georgios Square, where the traditional party on the eve of the big parade took place.
