The Memorial of the Fighters of the National Liberation Struggle of EOKA 15-2023 was held on Sunday, October 1955, 59 in the presence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, organized by the Union of Fighters of Paralimni EOKA 1955-59 in collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni.
The Memorial Service was held at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios in Paralimni presided over by the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta, Mr. Vassiliou. Afterwards, Trisagio was held at the EOKA 1955-59 Heroes Monument and wreath laying. A memorial speech was delivered by the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis.
Wreaths were laid by the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta, Mr. Vasilios, the Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis, the President of the Union of Paralimni Athletes EOKA 1955-59, Mr. Spyros Tsoukkas, Mr. Demosthenes Katsouris from part of the EOKA Fighters Association 1955-59, the former Minister of Justice and Public Order Mr. Nikos Kosiis, the President of DIKO Mr. Nikolas Papadopoulos, on behalf of the President of DISY Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos, on behalf of the President of ELAM the Member of Parliament Famagusta Mr. Linos Papagiannis, on behalf of the President of EDEK Ms. Christina Steka, the Mayor of Acheritou Mr. Michalis Kaunas, the Commander of the 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Brigadier General Manolis Manolis, the Police Director of Famagusta, Constable A', Giorgos Oikonomou, the Deputy Christos Konstantinodis on behalf of the Famagusta Fire Station, the President of the Cyprus Youth Organization, Mr. Kleanthis Koutsoftas, Mr. Andreas Maimaridis on behalf of the EOKA 1955-59 Historical Remembrance Council, on behalf of the School Board and the Paralimni Public Schools the President of School Ephorate of Paralimni Mrs. Solomos Constantinou, the Director of Xenion Education Mrs. Katelitsa Zouvani-Fylaktos and on behalf of the SEC, Mr. Dimitris Mauris.
Also present were, among others, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr. Costas Koumis, the Famagusta MPs of DISY Mr. Nikos Georgiou and Mr. Zacharias Koulias, the former Minister of Health Mr. Christos Pelekanos, Directors of Public and Private Schools, representatives of Guilds and Unions and representatives and members of the EOKA Athletes' Associations 1955-59.
