Sadness was spread by the untimely death of Axel Schoeller who lost his life yesterday in the sea area of the Golden Coast in Protaras.
As reported by the Police, under circumstances which are being investigated, at the time in question Axel Schoeller, 60 years old from Austria, a permanent resident of Paralimni, while he was diving with his friend at a distance of 1,4 nautical miles from the Golden sea area Coast was found floating unconscious on the surface of the sea.
Members of the Port Police immediately went to the scene where they helped pull the 60-year-old man ashore, while an ambulance was called to the scene and transported the man to Famagusta General Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead."
As the Spokesperson of the TAE Famagusta said, "according to the first information, the 60-year-old went to the specific spot to search for a wreck and allegedly dived to a depth of 100 meters.
Axel was one of the unsung heroes, who worked tirelessly for tens of days in the investigations of the Red Lake. Axel was part of the team at Brasal Marine & Diving Services which contributed greatly to the identification of the victims of the first Cypriot serial killer.
