An elderly woman from Sweden lost her life yesterday afternoon while swimming in the sea of the free area of Famagusta.
According to the Police, around 5 yesterday afternoon, a 74-year-old woman from Sweden was swimming on a beach in Protaras, when she felt unwell.
Bathers and members of the lifeguard team pulled the woman out of the sea and offered her First Aid without recuperating.
The 74-year-old was transported by ambulance to the TAEP of the General Hospital of Famagusta, where the doctors on duty confirmed her death.
The exact causes of death of the 74-year-old will be ascertained during the legal autopsy that will be performed on her body tomorrow morning.
