The traditional event organized by the "Exedra" Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni was successfully held on the evening of Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the event square "Lefkolla" in Protaras.
The event included a reenactment of a traditional Cypriot wedding, from the alternations to the wedding feast.
The musicians Andreas Nikolaou (violin and voice), Theodoulos Papageorgiou (lute and voice) and Nikolas Kremastos (percussion), the traditional singers of the Exedra Society, Takis Zouvanis, Takis Skaros and Xenakis Patsalos, participated, the Municipal Dance Club of the Sotiras Municipal Apartment under the teaching of Savvas Adamos and the Anti-Drug School "Faros Zois" Liopetriou.
During his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nicolettos, congratulated the participants for preserving the morals and customs of our country through the organization of the event and emphasized that the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia has as its primary concern the support of groups that promote and preserve intangible cultural heritage.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Kleanthis Koutsoftas, the Deputy Mayor of Frenarous, Mr. Kostas Michael and the members of the Municipal Council of Paralimni - Deryneia, etc. Giorgos Artymatas, Maria Moulazimi, Despo Anastasiou, Kika Tsaparella – Papadimitriou, Antigoni Markou – Christofi and Panikos Orfanidis.
