A simple event was held at the Center for Offering and Love (KEPA) of Agios Christopheros, specifically at the Center for Care and Rehabilitation of the Elderly and Disabled, in the presence of the government representative, Mr. Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the Mayor of Paralimni-Derynia, Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos, and relatives of the residents.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Dimitris PapaEvelthontos, welcomed the attendees and informed them about the activities of KEPA.
In their greetings, both the government spokesman, Mr. Konstantinos Letymbiotis, and the Mayor of Paralimni-Derynia, Mr. George Nikolettos, thanked KEPA for its voluntary contribution to society and reiterated their willingness for further cooperation and support.
Specifically, in his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni-Derynia stated that "the Christmas event is not just a beautiful celebration, but a hymn to human dignity, to care and to the power of our community to offer, support and love. Every action developed at KEPA is tangible proof of its deep social mission. The Center for Offering and Love "Agios Christopheros" is not just a place of care, but a living organization that embraces people of all ages, offering support, creative employment, psychosocial empowerment and daily presence next to those who need a human voice and a steady helping hand."
He added that "All of its services, regardless of their nature, reflect the spirit of giving that characterizes KEPA: a spirit that heals loneliness, cultivates skills, strengthens self-confidence and offers dignity to every person. It is a project that becomes a daily act of humanity, practically supporting the right of every citizen to participate equally in the life of the community. I want to warmly congratulate the Board of Directors, the staff and the volunteers for the work they do every day. With consistency and humanity, they support people who are a valuable part of our society. As the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, we will continue to stand as helpers in every effort that promotes social cohesion and enhances the quality of life of all our citizens."
The residents, along with young volunteers, participated in the modest ceremony with recitations and songs. The recitation of the poem "Christmas" by the philologist Mr. Tasos Lagoudis was moving.
The young volunteers offered ornaments that they made together with the elderly. The relatives, together with the residents, placed the ornaments on the Christmas tree.
At the same time, Athena Lianou, together with our elderly people, sang and danced traditional and Christmas songs.
The Christmas Tree was lit and everyone was offered a treat.
The government representative toured the KEPA premises and congratulated the employees and volunteers for their work.
