The curtain of the 9th Protaras Summer Cinema Festival opened on Wednesday, July 2025, 11, at Lefkolla Square in Protaras. It is organized by the Paralimni Youth with the co-organizer the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and will last until July 27, with a daily free screening of a total of 28 blockbuster films for young and old.
The inauguration was held by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, together with the Deputy Mayor of Paralimni, Ms. Kleanthis Koutsofta, the President of the Youth of Paralimni, Ms. Georgia Klefti, members of the Youth Board of Directors, as well as dozens of volunteers who contribute substantially to the organization.
Mr. Nikolettos, in his greeting, congratulated the Youth of Paralimni for their consistency, creativity and contribution to the culture of the region and wished everyone good screenings and a special summer full of cinema and beautiful moments in Protaras.
The Paralimni Youth warmly thanks the public for their continued support of the festival, which continues until July 27, 2025, offering daily screenings of popular films, with free admission. The square, specially designed for the occasion and equipped with the largest outdoor screen in Cyprus, offers a unique summer experience for cinema lovers.
As part of the event, in addition to the 980 free seats, the public has the opportunity to watch the screenings from two specially designed spaces, with all proceeds going to charity:
The VIP Area, for those who desire a more comfortable and upgraded experience.
The Lounge Area, a quieter and more romantic option for couples and small groups, under the stars of the summer sky.
