An unveiling ceremony for the "Poseidon" sculpture created by the sculptor Filippos Giapanis was held by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia on the promenade of Protaras.
The sculpture is a donation of the Rotary Club of Famagusta - Kavo Greko in the context of the social and cultural contribution of the group, while the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia undertook the installation and landscaping of the area.
Greetings were addressed by the President of the Rotary Club of Famagusta - Kavo Greko, Mr. Louis Papageorgiou, as well as the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos, who, among other things, emphasized the actions taken by the Municipality to highlight its archaeological sites and cultural monuments.
Then the sculptor Mr. Filippos Giapanis presented the concept of the project, while an artistic program followed with the Prometheas Quartet and actor Petros Yorkatziis as narrator. The event was presented by the journalist Despina Pourekkou.
