A protest event outside the Municipal Palace of Paralimni is organized on the morning of Friday, January 7, by the local team of the Pancyprian Association of Water Sports, for the announcement of offers for facilities on beaches, while convened for tomorrow at 12 noon in Hoiroktoria, Board of Directors of the Association to study the situation.
A written announcement of the Association states that on Monday, January 3, 2022, an extraordinary General Assembly was held in which "the professionals of the Protaras Local Team of the Pancyprian Association of Water Sports discussed the actions and decisions of the Mayor of Paralimni for announcing offers. of the Beach, the existing Regulations, the procedures of the Central Committee of Beaches and the Provisions of the relevant offers - contracts ".
It is added that "the actions of the Mayor of Paralimni, which are carried out without the approval of the plenary of the Municipal Council, are irregular, arbitrary and illegal."
According to the announcement, "a letter and a complaint have been sent to the Mayor of Paralimni, the Municipal Council of Paralimni, the KEP, the Ministers of Interior and Justice and Public Order and the Chief of Police, for their immediate intervention".
The local group of the Association "demands the immediate convening of the plenary session of the Municipal Council to address the issue. At the same time, in addition to legal and other measures, it decided to hold a protest outside the Municipal Palace of Paralimni from the morning of Friday, January 7. "
