"Nava" "justifies" the Ministry of Tourism: 105 licenses in a week

In a statement, the Ministry of Tourism clarified what was heard in recent days about the licensing of Nava Seaside in Protaras and the "people's court" set up against the estate. Also, the Ministry of Tourism states that there was no reason to reject the renewal of the license of the property, while it is emphasized that only last week 105 companies were licensed which were not licensed.

The announcement of the Ministry of State is as follows:

“Following the comments that have come to light regarding the operating license of the Nava Seaside restaurant, located on Perneras Street, in the Municipality of Paralimni, the Ministry of Tourism clarifies the following:

This restaurant had applied for a renewal of classification and issuance of an operating license as a restaurant, for 2020, on January 9, 2020. The application for renewal was approved under the following conditions:

a) It would provide health certificates from the competent Health Authorities.

b) A responsible statement from the Director / Secretary of the company would be submitted that the company would continue to exist and that there would be no changes.

c) The said property would immediately comply with the conditions set by the Fire Service.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism was presented with all the certificates that showed compliance of this restaurant with the conditions that had been set. The Deputy Minister of Tourism also received a letter from the Fire Service sent on June 12, 2020 to the Mayor of Paralimni informing him that the premises were inspected in terms of fire protection on the same day, ie on June 12, 2020 and was deemed appropriate. Therefore, the Undersecretary had no reason to reject the renewal of the restaurant's operating license for 2020.

It is clarified that regardless of the renewal of the restaurant's operating license, the company's offenses in relation to the Law on Infectious Diseases will be brought to justice on June 24.

The State Department also notes that in the context of restarting the economy, after the lockdown to tackle the coronation pandemic, its services are intensively considering applications for licensing of young people or for renewal and classification of existing leisure centers. In particular, the Ministry of Tourism, especially last week, licensed / renewed licenses for a total of 105 such businesses. ”
