The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia had a meeting with the Rectorate of the National Technical University of Athens, responsible for the issue of establishing branches of the University in Cyprus, on Monday, May 5, 2025. Mr. Nikolettos met with the members of the Committee to whom the Municipality's proposal regarding the creation of a branch of the NTUA in the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia was presented.
Mr. Nikolettos stressed that the Municipality is making every effort to attract a University School that will contribute to the development of the educational, social and cultural level in the Famagusta district, while pointing out that the area is suitable for the development of higher education schools due to a large number of positive factors in comparison to other districts.
Both the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia and the three-member committee of the University expressed their satisfaction with the meeting, as a keen interest was expressed in cooperation between the NTUA and the Municipality.
The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia was accompanied by the Municipal Secretary, Ms. Gabriela Gabriel and the Municipal Engineer, Mr. Andreas Genagritis.
