The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia is sounding the alarm to any competent body that has taken the decision to install a photo-controlled pedestrian crossing at the height of the road of 1st April Avenue that connects Paralimni with Ayia Napa, within the Municipal Boundaries of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.
In a recent meeting, the Municipal Council discussed the issue and considers that the crossing in question is extremely dangerous, both for pedestrians and for passing drivers, because it is located on a road of primary importance. The crossing in question does not serve the public interest.
We call on all relevant bodies to have second thoughts so that we do not mourn victims on a road where the construction of an underground or overpass could be considered.
