Since the early morning hours, the staff of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia has been working consistently and dedicatedly to prepare the beaches and the wider tourist area, in view of the peak of the summer season.
In this context, cleaning and maintenance work on the infrastructure continues, while a new, modern shower has already been installed on Vrysi beach, with the aim of better serving visitors, solving the problem of unnecessary water consumption and avoiding the creation of stagnant water.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia works systematically to continuously upgrade the services provided, improve infrastructure and enhance the experience of both visitors and residents of the area.

I was at the facility and tried out the new "modern shower" at the Fig Tree Bay in Protaras.
Unacceptable that it doesn't accept cash.
Very expensive price for some water that seems to be bottled.
Why doesn't the shower accept cash? A good that the Municipality decided (wrongly) to charge for, why is it being taken away from the elderly who don't carry electronic wallets and cards? And all of us younger people who resist the persistent efforts of some to abolish cash, why are you blackmailing us and forbidding us from acquiring this public good with the cash we carry? Was cash banned by Law and we didn't learn about it? Are you blackmailing us into making this happen, indirectly?
Shame on all those who, intentionally or unintentionally, methodically or out of stupidity, blackmail all of us into abolishing cash.
Cash is legal and everyone, especially public entities, must accept it for every good they sell. Refusing to accept cash is a blatant violation of the rights of the people who have it and want to use it but you are denying it to them.
It is unacceptable to blackmail us in this way and make us second-class citizens.
We live without showers... salt is good,... but shame on you again for rushing to lead us, whether we like it or not, to the dystopia of plastic money.
There have been cash payment machines for decades. Why didn't you put in new and modern ones?
And you journalists, who dare to talk about inclusivity on other issues, learn to harshly criticize those who leave social groups out of public goods, because that is exactly what an electronic payment shower is. An exclusion, of many or a few people, from a legitimate good.
Again, shame on those who blackmail me, me personally.
It is unacceptable and regrettable not to accept cash.
“Modern showers” you supposedly wrote in your article. Electronic slavery and electronic bondage, drip and in small doses is their best title.
I hope that those who are sleeping, leaders and citizens, will wake up and articulate a counter-argument and resistance to any impending or planned dystopia.
Of course, from all these interventions, it is the Cypriots who are literally persecuted! The revenue for the Municipality of Paralimni-Dheryneia from umbrellas and sunbeds is not enough. And now they charge us for parking and water and we are even required to pay by card! You don't like cash... when in the world were cash abolished and by what right are my parents and us required to pay ONLY by cards? Tourists, please, will go up to the pool area of their hotel and consume as much water as they want without paying! Cypriots are being asked to pay the bill! Shame on you!
