In the context of the Traditional Culture Festival “Voices and Memories”
A different interactive event within the framework of the Traditional Culture Festival "Voices and Memories" which began on the 9th and ends on the 30th of April is organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia in collaboration with the ensembles of the Metropolitan Church of Saint George of Paralimni.
The event, which is organized on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10 am to 1 pm at Mitropoleos Square in Paralimni (square of three churches), includes a festival of love and giving, an interactive experience where adults tell children stories from Easter customs in Paralimni, the Experiential Sensory Workshop for the whole family “Flour and Dough, Memories and Tradition”, as well as a special free guided tour for children and families at the exhibition “Voices and Memories. St. George and the Bright Ones” at the museum of the Church of St. Anne. All activities are completely free.
“Living Voices and Memories”
The old remember and the young learn in an interactive experience that unites the past with the present. Residents of Paralimni, bearers of local tradition, tell stories and transform them into a valuable part of the collective memory. Interactive artistic activities and a special guided tour for children and families at the exhibition “Voices and Memories. St. George and the Light of the City” by curator Dr. Christina Kakkura.
“Flour and Dough: Memories and Tradition”
Experiential Sensory Workshop for the whole family from the “Nefeles” Arts and Art Therapy Center in collaboration with the Hatzigiorkis Mills Museum from 11 am to 12 noon.
It is aimed at children aged 5 and over. Limited number of places. Application for participation is required at the link: https://forms.gle/WUFqHDb1vdRvnBSu7 Priority will be respected.
Festival of Love and Offering
Festival of Love and Offering from the Metropolitan Church of St. George with games and activities for children and a food market. The Festival is organized by the Catechetical Schools, the Christian Women's Association and the "Anemoessa" Choir of the Metropolitan Church of St. George.
Participation in all activities is completely free.
The events take place within the framework of the Traditional Culture Festival "Voices and Memories" organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia in collaboration with the Cultural Academy of Agios Epiphanios from April 9 to 30, 2025. Admission to all Festival events is free.
As part of the Festival, an exhibition curated by the Cultural Academy "Agios Epiphanios" with memories of Easter customs in Paralimni and the connection with Saint George is open at the Museum of the Church of Saint Anne. Admission to the exhibition is free (Monday - Saturday 09:00-13:00) and will remain open until November 30, 2025.
The Festival is under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Culture and supported by the International Council of Folklore Festival and Folk Art Organizations (CIOFF).
