ENP for Theodorou: "The clause is illegal, incorrect and abusive"

On 3/6/2021 we received a letter from the said football player of our team, which he also notified to the KOP and with which he referred to the "Single Employment Contract" that he had signed and maintains with us, the duration of which ends at the end of the period 2021-2022, considers that he has a unilateral right to terminate his employment, consequently that he is entitled to sign with another team without our consent.

This is based on a specific clause, a model of "Single Employment Contract", which was imposed on us, following an Agreement between KOP and PASP, which was an integral part of the "Regulations of Registration and Transfer of Footballers and the applicable procedural Regulations on ADR" on the date of conclusion and signing of the specific contract.

A clause that unfortunately could interestfully push players of teams like ours to have reduced performance and / or invoke illness to not take part in official matches, so that they have the opportunity when and if their team is relegated, terminate contracts without compensation and sign new ones with another team and on better terms, without the consent of the team that employs them. A clause that clearly contradicts everything that football as a sport stands for.

This clause has been removed from the existing regulations because their authors may, even if late, have realized their mistake. A mistake that could have prompted the best team players, who throughout a football year have struggled to stay in the league, to have strange thoughts, looking forward to a better contract and much more money in teams claiming titles and European participation. .

Given all the above and with full reservation of our rights, on 11/6/2021 we addressed a letter to the KOP stating that the employment of Mr. Theodoros will be completed on the date indicated in his current contract, after the clause invoked, is illegal, erroneous, abusive, already deleted by existing regulations. A clause that clearly contradicts everything that football as a sport stands for.

We remind you that we are a Province trying to get out of an unprecedented economic crisis with lost 4 billion, we are a union that has always kept its obligations to the state, we have lost all appeals and now we are losing our best assets, with visible big dangers for the historical association of ENP ”.
