The Police have received a complaint about shots being fired at the home of a person from the wider family circle of a businessman who operates in the area.
According to the information, the complaint was filed at 5:30 in the afternoon of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, while it appears that the shots were fired around 4:30 in the morning of the same day.
The complainant appears to have reported to the Police that unknown persons fired shots at his home in Paralimni. He appears to be related through his family background to a person who was the target of criminal acts twice in the recent past.
Members of the Famagusta Police Department rushed to the scene and found that the shots fired had hit the exterior wall of the house's facade. The scene was cordoned off and investigations will continue at first light by the Famagusta Police Department and the Criminal Investigation Service of the Police Headquarters.
It is noted that this summer, specifically on July 26, a defensive grenade was found in a busy premises associated with the businessman in Ayia Napa, resulting in its evacuation. On August 17, moreover, unknown persons again warned of the existence of an explosive device in the area, which was evacuated and searches were carried out without finding anything. The motives of the perpetrators, who were not identified, were assessed at the time to be related to financial differences.
