Famagusta commemorates the anniversary of October 28

The celebrations for the anniversary of October 28, 1940 began today with brilliance in the free area of ​​Famagusta.

The focus of the celebrations is Paralimni where in the morning a parade was held by the Scout System, the Scout System and the Catechism of Agios Georgios and Agia Barbara. This was followed by the raising of the flag at the Municipal Palace of Paralimni.

The solemn doxology will begin at 09.45 in the morning at the Church of Agios Georgios, officiated by the Metropolitan of Constantia - Famagusta Vassilios. The solemnity of the day will be delivered by Katelitsa Zouvani - Amulet, Director of Xenion High Scholl. The government will be represented by Interior Minister Konstantinos Petridis. This will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the Monument of Heroes and around 11 the established parade on the 1st of April Avenue.

In Ayia Napa at 09.30 in the morning the solemn doxology will be performed in the church of Panagia Ayia Napa. The solemnity of the day will be delivered by Konstantinos Koumi, Mathematician of the High School "Peace and Freedom" of Deryneia.

The traditional parade on Famagusta Avenue will follow at around ten in the morning.

In Sotira, the solemn doxology at the Holy Temple of the Transfiguration will be performed around 08.45 in the morning and the solemnity of the day will be delivered by the MP of DISY Famagusta, George Karoullas.
