An area that in the summer months is full of life. Tourism gives a breath of fresh air to the locals, who work a few months a year in the hope that the income will be enough to support their family for the rest of the year.
Protaras, however, from November to April-May, has nothing to do with Protaras that the whole of Cyprus knows and enjoys during the summer months.
All hotels remain closed, including shops. The roads are empty and if one wants to go for a walk on a winter night, one will find that the landscape is extremely beautiful but it looks deserted.
Promises for the tourist season, that is, that it will grow, tourists will continue to come and that hotels will remain open, fall into the void.
Except for a couple of units that may be open, other than 2 cafes and a brewery, everything else is closed. In fact, Pernera is a vast construction site with the roads closed.
