The Consecration of the Waters and the Immersion of the Holy Cross were celebrated with splendor at the Paralimni Marina by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta on the occasion of the Epiphany.

The ceremony was held under the leadership of Archimandrite Augustine Kkaras, head of the Protosyngellos of the Holy Metropolis of Constantinople and Famagusta.

The Government was represented by the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Costas Fytiris, who in his greetings expressed his emotion for being present in his hometown of Paralimni for the celebration of the Consecration of the Waters. For his part, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia in his greetings stressed the importance of the Paralimni Marina project, the largest, as he stated, private sector project in the municipal boundaries of Paralimni - Deryneia.

During the consecration of the waters, a significant number of swimmers participated, including members of the Constantia Nautical Club, while the youngest swimmer was eleven years old.

After the ceremony, a traditional artistic program followed with the participation of the Paralimni Cultural Workshop "Para ti Limni", while members of the Paralimni Adult Employment Center and the Christian Association of Agia Varvara of Paralimni prepared and offered free loukoumades, the dough for which was provided free of charge by the "Zorpas" Bakeries.
