The celebrations for the National Anniversary of October 28, 2024 were held today by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia with great honor and splendor.
The Solemn Doxology was held at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios in Paralimni, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Basil of Constantia and Famagusta. The Government was represented by the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Giorgos Papanastasiou, while the Ceremony of the Day was delivered by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia Giorgos Nikolettos.
This was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Heroes' Monument and a Provincial Parade along April 1 Avenue, with the participation of officers and men of the 7th Motorized Infantry Brigade, public and private schools, scouts, catechetical societies and scout bodies.
During this year, the participation in the parade of the Philharmonic Band "MŁODZIEŻOWA ORKIESTRA DĘTA" of the city of Czechowicach-Dziedzicach, Poland, together with the Symphonic Band "Armonia" of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, while the greeting was received by, among others, the Ambassador of Poland Marek Szczepanowski.
The Polish band also participated in the raising of the flag early in the morning at the Town Hall of Paralimni - Deryneia, while it is in Cyprus in the context of the 2nd International Philharmonic Festival organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and the "Harmony" Symphony Band of the Municipality in Protaras on the evening of Sunday, October 27 in the presence of the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Giorgos Papanastasiou, the Polish Ambassador Marek Szczepanowski as well as the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia Giorgos Nicolettos.
Ceremonial Doxologies were also held in the other municipal departments of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, while the Coordinating School for the provincial parade this year was the Paralimni High School.
