A different initiative was carried out by the Paralimni High School on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the start of the EOKA Liberation Struggle in 1955. Specifically, students of the school, with the contribution of the teaching staff and the school's Management, organized a relay race from Paralimni to Paphos, honoring the memory of the heroic students of 1955-1959.
The start was made by starting from the bust of the hero student Petrakis Giallouros at the Paralimni High School and ending at the statue of the hero student Evagoras Pallikaridis in Paphos.
Intermediate stops were the Heroes' Monuments in the free province of Famagusta, while the students' march to the EOKA Heroes' Monument 1955-59 was also attended by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, who congratulated the students, teachers and the school management for the important initiative.
