In a climate of religious upliftment and with due reverence and devotion, the Epitaph service was held at the Metropolitan Church of Saint George in Paralimni on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.
The service was presided over by the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta, Mr. Vasiliou, while the Mayor of Paralimni-Dheryne, Mr. George Nikolettos, the President of the House of Representatives and President of DISY, Ms. Annita Dimitriou, the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Mr. George Papanastasiou, as well as the member of the European Parliament, Mr. Michalis Hatzipantelas, were present, among others.
Ms. Annita Dimitriou visited and worshiped at three other churches in the Municipality, the Church of All Saints in Deryneia and the Churches of Agios Dimitrios and Agia Varvara in Paralimni.
The Encomiums were sung by the choirs of the Anemoessa Cultural Association of the Metropolitan Church and Melizona of the Municipal District of Paralimni.
The Epitaph was then taken through the city's main streets to the sounds of the "Armonia" symphonic band of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia. The epitaph was carried by members of the Paralimni scout associations, while an army detachment paid tribute.
