The Diocese of Constantine - Famagusta and the Cultural Academy "Agios Epifanios" organize from February 1 - 3 the XNUMXth International Conference of Cypriot Hagiology.

A written announcement of the Diocese states that "the aim of the Conference is to contribute to the study of the life, work and honor of the Cypriot Saints. Cypriot Hagiology is an important chapter in the history of Cyprus, but also of the Orthodox Church in general, which has not been studied systematically and adequately to date, "he said, noting that" the organization of hagiological conferences by the Holy Diocese of Constantia hopes to cover this scientific gap ".

It is added that "the XNUMXth International Conference of Cypriot Hagiology bears the general title" Ecumenical Saints honored in Cyprus "and it will present issues related to the honor of the apostles and in particular of the apostle Andreas in Cyprus, the honor of the great holy hierarchs, the the honor of the great martyrs and military saints and especially of St. George, the honor of the holy women martyrs and saints who are honored as protectors of shepherds and farmers ".

The Conference "will be attended and presented by distinguished researchers and professors from Cyprus, Greece, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and Lebanon on topics related to various disciplines, such as Theology, Philology, History, Archeology, History of Art, Architecture, Paleography, Folklore, Law, Musicology and Sociology ".

According to the announcement, "the Conference is dedicated to the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II on the occasion of the completion of 40 years of hierarchical ministry (1978-2018)".

The Conference will start on Thursday, February 1, at 9 am at the Synod of the Holy Diocese of Constantia - Famagusta in Paralimni and will be addressed by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis and the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos.
