Tonight at 20.00 there will be a memorial event with the lighting of candles in memory of the victims of the air tragedy, in Agios Georgios Square, in Paralimni.
As Niki Michailidou, a member of the committee of relatives of the victims of "Helios", told KYPE, about 60 relatives of the victims from Cyprus are expected to go to the place of the tragedy, to participate in the memorial service that will be held on Wednesday, August 14, at Grammar. Together with the relatives of the victims living in Greece and representatives of institutions, the number of those who will go to Grammatiko is estimated at 150 people, he said.
The memorial service will be held by the Metropolitan of Kifissia, Maroussi and Oropos Cyril, in the presence of the Ambassador of Cyprus to Greece Kyriakos Kenevezos and representatives of the local government, while parties, organizations and institutions will lay a wreath in memory of the victims. It will be preceded by a Divine Liturgy, in the church in Grammatiko, while then all the participants will climb to the top of the mountain, at the point of the plane crash, where a trishagio will be performed.
