Major General Thomas Bewick OBE, Commander of the British Forces in Cyprus, visited the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia on Tuesday, November 18, and met with Mayor George Nicolettos and members of the Municipal Council.
A press release from the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia states that "during the visit, the Mayor informed Mr. Bewick about the development initiatives that are underway in the sectors of culture, tourism development and municipal infrastructure."
Subsequently, Mr. Bewick "took a tour of the Municipal Museum of National History, the water theme park in Deryneia and the tourist resort of Protaras, where he expressed his enthusiasm for the high level of infrastructure, the natural environment and the overall progress of the area."
As the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia stated, "the visit of the Commander of the British Forces in Cyprus confirms the stable, productive and mutually beneficial cooperative relations. Security, stability and respect between the two sides constitute the foundations for further cooperation at various levels," concluded Mr. Nicolettos.
