Vassilis Papageorgiou is the rear guard of EN Paralimni - Interview

Vassilis Papageorgiou is undoubtedly one of the young Cypriot players who managed to stand out this year from the effort of the Paralimni Youth Union to return to the salons of the First Division.

The 24-year-old defender from the "football mother" Sotira of the brothers Christofis, Kastanos, Eleftherios and Nikolaos, is trying to prove his best this year in the most difficult, perhaps, Cypriot football championship, since only one team will cut the thread this year for the first category.

He started with Onisilos Sotiras and then played with the colors of PAEEK Kyrenia and ASIL Lysis. He also had the opportunity to wear the jersey with the coat of arms, after participating with our national team in the U-19 and U-21 categories.

He recently graduated from the University of Nicosia with a degree in Sports Science, while since last summer he has been competing with the colors of crimson and is the first preference of Andre Pau in the back.

In this year's championship he counts 7 participations with 1 goal, as well as 2 participations in the cup.

How easy or how difficult do you think it is for ENP to move up to Category A?
First of all, let me mention that it is an excellent job by the people of the team, who want to see ENP again in the first category. Easy or difficult it depends on us footballers. This year only one team is promoted to the first division and we as footballers will do our best to promote the team where it deserves!

Do you think that Andre Pau brought a different image and result to the team?
The results of Mr. Pau's work can be seen on the pitch and on the scoreboard. He is an excellent coach and above all he is an excellent character.

Which do you think are the most difficult teams in Division B and which do you think will fight with you for promotion?
The Division B championship is a difficult championship based mainly on strength and closed defenses. There are several tough teams. As for the battle of the ascent, Anagennisi Deryneia together with Omonia Aradippou and Othello Athienou will fight with us for the ticket that leads to the First Division.

What are your personal ambitions / goals?
Through a group success comes the individual. So my personal ambition is in line with that of the team, where it is no other from the ascent to A ' Category.

How did the people of the Union receive you?
With the best way. So I, for my part, will always try to bring out my best in the field.

Sotira has sent many talents abroad, such as Dimitris Christofis and Grigoris Kastanos. If you received an offer from abroad, would you accept it?
The two mentioned above are footballers who were promoted from the Union team. As for me, if I received a proposal from abroad (a little difficult) I would try to live this experience.

If you did not follow football, what sport would you follow?
Basketball or Tennis

Messi or Ronaldo and why?
Ronaldinho because he faced everything with a smile

A message to the world of the Union?
We want them near us for the difficult continuation that follows in order to be able to celebrate in the end all together the promotion to the First Division.
