Nothing can be erased from the memory of that black morning of December 26, 2002.

The news shocked the whole of Paralimni.

The dreams of the 19-year-old football player of the Paralimni Youth Union and the National Team of Hope, George Kkara, and of his 21-year-old brother, his friend George Savvas Mavroudis, were “passed away” forever on the asphalt.

Two brotherly friends, Giorgos Kkaras, the young talent of the Crimson and Ethniki Elpida with his brother friend Giorgos Savvas Mavroudis, lost their lives on the asphalt after a fatal car accident.

The black dawn of December 26, 2002

It was around 5 in the morning. The two brotherly friends were returning from a Christmas night party, but their fate set in motion.

On the road Paralimni - Ayia Napa, the car they were driving collided head-on with another car around 5 in the morning, sinking Paralimni in heavy mourning.
